Etta B. Zivian has retired from the practice of law after a successful career which she enjoyed immensely.

Etta earned her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1980 and her undergraduate degree in Sociology and English from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Prior to her legal career, Etta earned a teaching certificate from Wayne State University and taught English to middle and high school students for twelve years.

In addition to working with her clients, Etta regularly lent her time and talent as a volunteer in the legal community for many years. She served on a disciplinary panel for the Attorney Grievance Commission of the State Bar of Michigan which oversees the conduct of attorneys. As a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, she participated in organizing Law Day, an event offering free legal advice to the public. She devoted years of service to the legal staff of the Women’s Survival Center of Oakland County.
